Laser Fleet

    The Laser is a single-handed boat, simple enough to make it a great boat to learn on, yet with performance to satisfy experienced racers. At 13 feet 10.5 inches long with a 12.5 foot waterline and 76 square feet of sail, the Laser has power enough to glide in extremely light air and blast along in a stiff breeze.

    The Laser fleet at Nyack was established in the spring of 2001. The Laser Fleet participates in formal racing on Sunday afternoons and informal racing using an automated starting device are held on Tuesday nights. Tuesday night race courses are short so that we can have more races and keep skippers with varying degrees of experience sailing together. Join us on Sunday afternoons or Tuesday nights and try Laser sailing!

    There are three Laser Regattas each year with 15 to 21 boats participating.
